Located just on the outskirts of the Central Business District, CBD (connected via the Nicoll Highway), Geylang is conveniently sited on the eastern part of Singapore, almost between Changi International Airport and the CBD.
Geylang is a colourful landscape of small restaurant and eateries, neon lights, interesting entertainment outlets and the largest collection of durian (strong smelling tropical fruit) stalls on the island. Recently, more concept retailers are lining Geylang main road, offering an “interest” blend of merchandise. Geylang is rejuvenating and has the makings of budget tourist hub, bubbling with restaurants, shopping and good value tourists accommodations.
Within a small geographical area, Geylang has a few mosques, churches and quite a few Buddhist & Taoist temples. A good example of colourful and vibrant environment.
