This National Museum of Singapore originated exhibition will look at the various depictions of 19th century Singapore, examining their meanings and representations. The various works will reveal the topography of the Singapore landscape in the 19th century with views of places such as the harbour, Singapore River, Fort Canning Hill, Raffles Place as well as depict the cosmopolitan trade town and Singapore's rural scenes. Taking an approach that is both chronological and thematic, the exhibition will feature about 200 artefacts from the museum's collection, a significant number of which were acquired in recent years and never before shown.

Instead of paying exorbitant prices to catch a movie in the theatres, Singaporeans can now watch some of the best-loved Hollywood blockbusters in the comfort of their own motor vehicles for free. Initiated by Ape Communications, managed by Ape Productions and sponsored by Epson, Epson Movie Mob Drive-In is a fortnightly movie screening series that aims to re-create a nostalgic experience of days long gone.

Baba Bling: The Peranakans and Their Jewellery, is an exhibition showcasing some of the finest jewellery from Peranakan families and private collectors. Over 300 glittering jewels will be on display, including some of the oldest surviving pieces of Peranakan jewellery form the 19th century, as well as contemporary pieces, from Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Some of the highlights from the exhibition include 12 spectacular sets of jewelled brooches (kerosangs) from the late 19th to the early 20th century. The designs of these pieces reflect a fusion of various cultural influences. Visitors will also be able to learn more about how jewellery was made from the display of goldsmith tools and moulds.
